Starting Grant pour les jeunes chercheurs - deux à sept ans après la thèse (jusqu’à 1,5 millions d’euros pour 5 ans).

En 2018, 37 chercheurs français ont été sélectionnés sur 403 chercheurs financés (sur 3170 candidatures évaluées).

Seuls 3 lauréats sont chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales, dont Chowra MAKAREMI (CNRS) qui propose une anthropologie de la violence après la Révolution iranienne ( "Violence, State formation and memory politics : an offsite ethnography of post-revolution Iran").

En 2017 :
 Marie-Pierre CHAUFRAY (CNRS), papyrologue, - "The Graeco-Egyptian State : Hellenistic Archives from Egyptian Mummies ",
 Camille LEFEBVRE - "Hausa and Kanuri languages as archive for the history of Sahara and Sahel in 18th and 19th century",
 Bérangère REDON (HiSoMA) - "Into the Eastern Desert of Egypt from the New Kingdom to the Roman period ".

En 2016, Alberto DALLA ROSA (EPHE/Ausonius) "Assessing the local and the global socioeconomic impact of the imperial properties in the Roman world (from Augustus to Diocletian)"

En 2015, Alice Travers (CNRS/CRCAO) pour son projet "The Tibetan Army of the Dalai Lamas (1642-1959)".
