Member of LEM’s Cluster 1 : "Sacred books : canons and heterodoxies", and professor at the EPHE within the LEM (UMR 8584), Pierre Lory specializes in Islamic studies and mysticism. He holds the chair on Islamic Mysticism at the EPHE. He directed the Scientific Department of Medieval and Modern Arabic Studies at the Institut Français du Proche-Orient(Damascus) from 2007 to 2011.
