Fields of research
– Classical Islamic thought (Sufism, theology, philosophy).
– History of Persian literature.
– Mysticism in Persian literature.
Topics of research
– Treaties on Sufi proper manners, 10th-14th centuries.
– Mysticism in Persian literature, with a focus on the creation of a mystic poetry which justifies and magnifies the use of poetry to provide edification and spiritual teaching.
Projects 2019-2023
– Sufi proper manners (adab), in the context of the Kubrawiya Order, its sociology and its psychology, its variations and its symbolism. My corpus will include two main volumes in Persian : The Path of God’s Bondsmen (Mirṣād al-ʿibâd) of Najm al-dīn Dāya Rāzī (1177-1256) and The Funding Principles of the Ideal Behavior (Fuṣūṣ al-adab) of Yaḥyā Bākharzī (m. 1335), which both belong to the Kubrawiya Order.
– Classical and modern Persian literature : the point is to write down a reference volume that will allow French readers to discover this literature and to find markers to help them study it in depth.
